He formerly taught at the University of Michigan and Columbia University. Wherry is an economic and cultural sociologist who is currently investigating the meanings of money and the financial inclusion of immigrants and ethnic minorities in the United States. He was recently elected to the membership of the Sociological Research Association in recognition of his distinguished research.
Juliet Schor is a professor of sociology at Boston College. Her research focuses on issues of time use, consumption, and environmental sustainability. She received her PhD in economics at the University of Massachusetts.
