Betrayal is something I never thought I would see from this book family but oh boy does it come! I'm praying its for a good reason! This author does an amazing job of bringing you in her world. You wanna fight for these characters!

I enjoy the Beautiful Fates series, and was excited to read the latest installment. It's been over a year since I read the first two books in the series, so I had a little bit of catching up to do regarding the plot and characters. But the biggest issue I had was reorienting myself to Mann's writing style. She tends to mix past and present tense and that sometimes slows down the flow for me.
Ari and Ava are deeply in love, and their love story I enjoy the Beautiful Fates series, and was excited to read the latest installment. Ari and Ava are deeply in love, and their love story could be described as too sweet.

Some of their declarations to each other felt saccharine to me. I'm not usually a fan of arguments, but in this case it made Ari and Ava's relationship feel realistic. I liked that Ari is the narrator in A Promised Fate. He's always been a somewhat elusive character, and I liked getting to know him better. This is a fairly long book, but there was a lot of depth to the plot, which kept every page interesting. The minor characters and their stories are one of my favorite things about this series. I love how well Mann has developed them. Like its predecessors, there's a major twist at the end of A Promised Fate.
I couldn't believe it was happening as I read it!
I had predicted part of the twist but was shocked at the duplicity of some of the people in Ari's life. Needless to say, now I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. If you like contemporary fiction with a paranormal twist, I recommend the Beautiful Fate series. Disappointing Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books of this series. I've read them both several times. This book took forever to come out and honestly based on the content it should've taken more time.
Illusions of Fate
This book was so completely different from the original books in the series it was just absurd. Yes the characters were all there but their characteristics just did a complete Ari was so quick to jump down Ava's throat it was crazy. Rory might as well have not be Disappointing Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books of this series. Rory might as well have not been in the book his role was so non-existent. Julia, Andy, August, Margaut, Giana and detective Scott all working together in that group and having Ari join is ridiculous.
During the first two novels it's all about Ava saving everyone and them trying to be there for her and loving her. This book was just so disconnected from the first two it seemed like it belonged to another series. I'm not sure if it was all the months in between or what but this book was just a huge disappointment. I love Ari and Ava together, this book didn't represent the real Ari and Ava at all. You barely get a glimpse of the real characters before they are thrust into these alto egos of ridiculousness.
Jan 31, Justine rated it really liked it. This is the third book by the talented Cat Mann that I have had the pleasure to read and review. I love this series and I can't wait to see where it will go next. One of my favourite parts of these novels are the covers, they fit in well with the story and I love how simple yet meaningful they are.
My favourite part of the stories are the Greek mythology aspects. I love Greek mythology so any story pertaining to it is exciting in my books. But I also love the fact that this story contains mythol This is the third book by the talented Cat Mann that I have had the pleasure to read and review. But I also love the fact that this story contains mythology that may not be as popular as some other well known myths. I love the ride that these characters are on.
I also enjoy that despite the characters not being your average humans, I like that their relationships are very human-like. They have that amazing connection and love but they also fight with each other. In other words, they aren't perfect but they are realistic. The ending wasn't a cliff hanger but it leads the reader in a direction that I for one don't like haha, only because it is going to stir shit up.
It's a bittersweet ending but only half of the characters know that at this point. I look forward to reading the next book and find out what is going to happen. If you are a lover of mythology you should check out this series. This series has so many ups and downs and always at the VERY end of the books Now I need the next installment.
Like, right now! Wow this book was a wonderful read. I am glad that I got this from his POV though. There is a lot we don't know about Ari other tha This series has so many ups and downs and always at the VERY end of the books There is a lot we don't know about Ari other than that he is madly in love with Ava This was a strange book though, we are moving out of the trauma Ava experienced and the Kakos situation into a whole new one. One that Ari has to deal with.
There is a lot of emotional struggle and distrust in this installment as Ari has to come to terms with the fact that the events might not be occurring because of Ava, but are his fault, and he must decide if he can tell his wife about his past There is a good amount of emotional drama throughout this one and then actual drama in the last chapter.
I love this series and cannot wait for the next installment! I was disappointed. I'd rate the first 2 books as 3 stars. There was a bit too much graphic sex for my taste, but the story was interesting enough that I skimmed through and kept going. This author also has some editing issues. There were a lot of missing or misplaced words that just stuck out and distracted from the story.
The first 3 books need additional editing. Book 3 also had a LOT more profanity than the first 2 books.

If book 1 had as much profanity as this one, I would have stopped readin I was disappointed. If book 1 had as much profanity as this one, I would have stopped reading at that point. Overuse of the F-bomb is extremely distracting. As for the story, this book was different in that it was told from Ari's point of view. And Ari is a jerk, to put it mildly. I really dislike his character and I found myself talking to the book as I read.
And as for the ending, I really hate it when the bad guys win. I'm disgusted enough that I don't really want to read the last book. If it wasn't already in my kindle library, I wouldn't purchase it. Jan 21, Melissa rated it really liked it. Took me a horribly long time to finish. I had a really hard time w her destroying my favorite characters.
I mean why does ari have to be so mean? Also it switches from Ava to Ari as narrator. Which makes not a lot of sense to me. I mean Ava's the one w visions, so I've grown used to her being the one to save everyone. I still love the series this was just so painful to read. And it ended in a cliffhanger, I hate when things don't get resolved in a book. Going to be a long wait for the next one.. Going to be a long wait for the next one Jan 21, Jenny rated it liked it Shelves: ebook , series , reading-challenge , 3stars.
Again, the fact that they act like they're adults as in close to 27 is something that totally put me off. They're 20 for god's sake!!! Even thought I finished it and to be honest was very sucked in, the story was too unnatural for my taste. I can't handle the unnaturalness.
