Dragon Blood : Dragon World Trilogy: Book 3
Again, I did have to skip through a few pages due to some extremely steamy scenes, but that didn't keep me from loving the story! Looking forward to book 3! Nov 23, Michelle Porter rated it really liked it. SO after reading the first one and seeing that the second one was already out I wanted to see where the story went. If you were worried there weren't enough sexy bits in it they sort of pushed it 10 fold for this part.
A rather nice next chunk in the series. Though it did fall for a small trope I am not a fan of. However I will be reading the next part when the last book does come out. Nov 13, Kimberly rated it it was amazing. I love this series! This book captured my attention in the first chapter and had me wishing I could read faster so I could satisfy my curiosity. I was anxious to read what's next, but not ready for this story to end.
This action-packed story has magic, danger, adventure, dragons, warlocks, elves, gods, romance, suspense and war. I love the characters of Dareena, Lucyan, Drystan, and Alistair, each of them so strong, brave, protective and intelligent. New allies and discoveries are brought to li I love this series! New allies and discoveries are brought to light and can impact the war. What will it take for a truce to be made? I can't wait until the next book in this compelling series comes out!
Nov 12, Nancie rated it it was amazing. What a fabulously wonderful story! The tale of Dareena and her three dragon shifter princes continues and it does not disappoint. The danger of the elves are increased when they demand Dareena as a hostage until a huge ransom can be paid. The problem is that they can't find where the old king has hidden the treasure of the royal family. More intrigue and lots of frisky sex make this a great read! The way this story is written is a testament to the talents of Jasmine Walt and May Sage! This rever What a fabulously wonderful story!
This reverse harem story keeps you glued to the pages to see what will happen next. Nov 14, Amethyst Stone rated it really liked it. I am a serious fan of Jasmine's work. The writing is good, the world they created is very interesting, and I love the dragons and all the relationships. I just couldn't help but feel that sometimes the storyline gets lost behind the romance in parts.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't necessarily a bad thing for everyone. Definitely more intense love scenes than the last book in this series, so be prepared. Nov 14, Katherine Bogle rated it it was amazing. Holy sequel Batman, this was good! Taken on a new adventure to elven territory, we get to see a brand new, gorgeous world that can also be quite cruel. There's so much intrigue going on behind the scenes at Castle Whitestone with a flagging king, a psychotic prince, and a kind princess, giving us a new side to the elves we had yet to see. Princess Basilla was by far my favourite new addition!
Sh Holy sequel Batman, this was good! She's a kind, generous, young elf with healing powers, and her own mind. Unlike her psycho brother, she's actually a decent human being who isn't clouded by prejudice against the dragons. Dareena's evolution was also great to see! Though we saw what felt like a lot less of her, she transforms from a woman with no talent for fighting, into this amazing magic wielder with a badass whip! Walt and Sage brought on another action packed, and very steamy romance-filled book that you won't be able to put down!
Nov 12, C. Erani Kole rated it really liked it Shelves: out-of-this-world , reverse-harem , fae , dragon , witchy , villagers-play. The first one was great with an ending that made me want to read this the second I got my hands on it, regardless of how late it was. I totally loved the way the epicness changed between kingdoms. Instead of dealing with the humans and dragon born, you now have to deal with the Elven folk and mages.
Seeing the world expand the way it did really got me engaged. I had a small few things that personally made me pause but otherwise I was seriously entertained and loved the writing, the creative fantasy world and the overall flow of the story and Dareena's journey. It's a definite must read if you love dragons, reverse harems, family bonds, productive struggles and a few giggles stained with blood. Jan 05, Frank Bertino rated it it was amazing. As the mates separately and together try to patch their kingdom up, they find warlocks posing as important people and poised to steal the treasury.
I like the loyalty, love, and devotion shown by the principal characters. Will they be able to rescue the abducted Princess Basilla? I look forward to the next book "Dragon's Curse". Jun 04, Tracy D. This is getting really good! Dareena is one fortunate lady, scoring 3 dragon princes! But if she and Alistair don't figure out a way to escape the elves, any hope of breaking the Dragon Curse will cease to be.comreipresderpfar.ml/map47.php
The Dragon Blood Collection
Luckily, the 2 mates that aren't in captivity, are very resourceful, and she has a dragon god on her side. Will the dragon kings and their Gift be able to vanquish their enemies? I can't wait to find out! Mar 04, Sherilyn Amy rated it it was amazing. This has been such an amazing series this far. I cannot wait to read the 3rd installment which I will be one clicking in a hot minute. This series isnt anything lile I would've expected. There are so many dragon, elven and warlock series that they all just take on the same idea just different characters.
This series has been very pleasantly unexpected. I am so excited to read the next book!!
Jul 21, Melody rated it it was amazing. I love series so far they're fabulous I'm glad I waited until the full series was out it would have drove me nuts this the first time I read these authors books and I'll be looking for some more by then you definitely want to check this series out You have a regular woman that works hard then you have princes Alpha dragon princess at that how can you want anything else action drama sizzling scenes this is definitely a book you want to check out. Nov 12, Tina Courts rated it it was amazing. This is the second in this set and I was overcome with emotion.
Had me pulled into the story as if I had never left. Full of action, magic, intrigue and delves further into the curse. Lots of hot steamy intimacy as the relationship between the 3 princes and Doreena progresses. A must read if your into reverse harem relationships with an urban fantasy twist. Nov 16, Lucinda rated it it was amazing. What a great sequel! It has some content that is adult in nature and some extra gory shock horror scenes.
I really wanted to binge read this but extra busy life got in the way otherwise I would have sat and read the whole thing at once. Plenty of the dragons and the elves and warlocks feature more in this story. Ends on a cliffhanger. It was extremely well written with fast paced action to keep me hooked. Would recommend to fans of fantasy romance stories. Then I discovered that I don't like Caitlin Davies's style as a narrator.
I actually went back to my Iphone "Voice Over" narrator in preference. The narration speed is off; 1x is a little too slow but 1. She doesn't have a wide range of flex for different characters and her reading sounds like a bad play. All in all, I was disappointed in this set. I think Lindsay has more talent and ingenuity that was reflected in this set. Jan 06, Katyana rated it really liked it Shelves: fantasy , steampunktastic. I started out annoyed - Sardelle being attacked and hated while Tolemek was just accepted and given a lab pissed me off, and I wanted nothing more than for her to leave and wish them all good luck fighting the magic without her.
But by the end, I was I don't know if appeased is the right word. But I enjoyed the ride. And I enjoyed Sardelle winning over the squad. I will never get over Tolemek - what Apex said is exactly what I said in my review of book 2, you don't make a weapon like that unle I started out annoyed - Sardelle being attacked and hated while Tolemek was just accepted and given a lab pissed me off, and I wanted nothing more than for her to leave and wish them all good luck fighting the magic without her.
I will never get over Tolemek - what Apex said is exactly what I said in my review of book 2, you don't make a weapon like that unless you ARE evil. I guess I'm invested enough in the overall story to read on, regardless. And I really like Sardelle and Jaxi. And I've forgiven Ridge for his squeamishness about Sardelle's magic, and his assumption that she'd just happily live in his house doing nothing while he continues on with business as usual. Here's hoping the next book doesn't wreck the fragile peace I've made with the issues in the series!
Sep 08, Jordan rated it liked it. I liked the book and enjoy the characters and the worldbuilding around magic and technology. I purchased the first three books of this series as a box set on sale, and while I feel I got my money's worth I won't be continuing due to other issues I have with the worldbuilding of the two warring countries. Jun 04, Charlie rated it liked it Shelves: clock-and-steam. The series kind of took a dive. The first book was a great read. The second was enjoyable. This one just kind of feels like it is forcing the characters along a path to the next book. I understand that this is a part of a series, but the end of this book does not feel finished.
I enjoy Lindsay's writing style and story-telling, but this story just felt flat to me. Aug 04, Chaos rated it really liked it. I'm always glad when an author figures out that they don't need graphic sex scenes to keep their readers entertained. After the first book in this series the author lets her characters and fast-moving action keep us glued to the pages, instead of resorting to cheap emotional tricks.
I heartily approve. Sep 21, Caitlin rated it liked it. I got the first three books as a bundle, discounted. The third book provides more development amid the action and chemistry, but not enough that I'll be rushing to buy book 4. I'm not ruling out sometime later, but these characters didn't grab my attention and make me want to know more as much as other Buroker stories have.
Oct 13, Bill Tillman rated it it was amazing Shelves: audible , dragons , adult , magic , battle , kindle , fantasy , mid-grade , fiction , young-adult. Well what's ya know, doggone good steampunk adventure. Ridge and crew face off against a white mountain, filled with evil scientists and enemy soldiers. Gotta read it to believe all the scrapes they get into. May 11, Mei rated it it was amazing Shelves: fantasy. Mar 13, K. Harrowick rated it it was amazing Shelves: steampunk , fantasy , romance.
The third installment takes readers back into the minds of Ridge and Sardelle, continuing the tale from the first two books. This review may contain spoilers. What I loved: Ridgewalker is still my favorite character. Areas needing a touch of refinement: Unlike the first two books in the tale, this one seemed to have a lot of ugh, erm, ehn—just weird sounds or pauses sprinkled liberally throughout the text. Makes them sound more like teenagers than grown men and women.
Everything we already see unfolding between them is just fine, and the whole thing could have been cut to make the story stronger. Overall: I still love this tale and the series as a whole. Feb 18, Lana rated it it was amazing. They travel into the jaws of the enemy and the story keeps on becoming really tense till the last few lines. In fact I was sure that this time we would not be seeing a good end to this book but Lindsey Buroker has a way of writing where she manages to tie up the loose ends of the story yet leaves us wanting more as there is so much more that we are dying to get to know!!
This is a real fun, must read series, the sarcastic caustic wit of Jaxi is such fun, i love that soul blade! May 12, Tomas rated it really liked it Shelves: action , magic , steampunk , fantasy , Rumors are that Cofahre got a dragon blood somehow. Could it be true when noone saw live dragon for thousand years? Stories from first and second books come together in this one and Ridge, Sardelle, Ahn and Tolemek go on a military mission together.
While I was happy to read more about Ridge and Sardelle again, I got stuck around middle of the book and it took me some 2 weeks to get the pace again. The story is not huge, there is almost no development in relationships, yet we get some decent act Rumors are that Cofahre got a dragon blood somehow. The story is not huge, there is almost no development in relationships, yet we get some decent action and we also learn something new about lore which moves the whole story a bit forward.
The thing that we learn something new in every installment in this series is one of the main things that I really like. Buroker maintains quality level of previous books and if you liked them, you will definitely like also this one. Nice short read, pleasant micture of romance, military fantasy and steampunk. Apr 20, Shaly rated it it was amazing Shelves: lindsay-buroker.
The enemy in this book turns out to be a hell of a lot smarter than the good guys, almost unbelievably so! I was getting a bit disheartened that at every turn Ridge and his people were being thwarted by the Cofahs and 4. I was getting a bit disheartened that at every turn Ridge and his people were being thwarted by the Cofahs and their dragon blood infused inventions.
Though with all of the silly banter, witticisms and comebacks between this group, this third installment makes for a very interesting, engaging, page turning read! Jun 12, Tina rated it it was amazing. Ridge gets a secret assignment that apparently isn't so secret. The Cofar are using Dragon Blood, so they say, to create all these new and deadly weapons. The King asks Ridge and his team to fly spies into Cofar territory and retrieve a sample. Sounds easy right? Not if the Cofar know they're coming? Another action packed story with hand to hand battle to fantastic aerial battles.
I literally could not put it down at some point. This set was a freebie and I really appreciate it. It got me hooked on another series. I see there are a few more stories that I need to read Mar 03, Birgit rated it really liked it. Definitely my new favourite series! In this third book, we follow our characters right into the enemy territory, to discover if rumours of the Cofah having found dragon blood is true.
Of course, nothing goes as planned, especially if our sorceress has to reveal her identity Well written, with now well known and beloved characters, this is a very good sequence to the other two books; in actual fact, I think they are getting better and better. The quirks of the main protagonists, and the underly Definitely my new favourite series! The quirks of the main protagonists, and the underlying - and not so subtle - humour make each book in this series sheer joy to read. I cannot wait to get the next one! It is official I'm hooked! The Dragon Blood series seems to get better and better as the series goes on and I think that can be attributed to how the author builds her characters, their stories, and their world.

I am completely hooked on this series! I cannot wait to see what happens next! Oct 28, Rosemary Hughes rated it it was amazing. After listening to the audio rendition of this book as part of "Dragon Blood - omnibus", I submit this review.
The king has given a mission to Ridge and an some of his squadron to investigate some of the enemy intelligence that has come in. Ridge goes about this mission in his normal contrary way, and Sirdalle accompanies the group into enemy territory. A dramatic search and rescue mission results in an interesting outcome.
Looking forward to more of this series. A very dramatic story. Then you have his assaults, threats and other unpleasantness. It's just not a believable character or military setting. Sure, the military has bullies, jerks and people who don't follow orders, but people who disobey their king are usually executed. Someone like Therrin would have been fragged by his own people long ago. I'm starting to think Lindsay has a poor opinion of high ranking officers or something.
There's definitely a trend of incompetent Colonels and Generals in the series.
Dragon's Blood (The Dragon's Gift Trilogy #2) by Jasmine Walt
We haven't seen a single General yet who was smarter then the Privates around him. How could this little country be holding off an empire like the Confu for centuries with such incompetence?
So, not going to lie, I have had a bit of a hard time "getting into" the Dragon Blood series. I also feel like having the two romances in book 1 and 2 of Dragon Blood felt a bit rushed to me after the slow building romances of the EE series. I don't feel as attached to these romantic relationships because of that and it makes me wish there had been more time to build their connections and unresolved tensions, etc. This book felt a bit slow to me in the beginning which is why I took it to 4 stars instead of 5 , but really picked up later on and we were introduced more to Apex and Therrick two characters I can't WAIT to read more about.
We also got to see a bit more information and hints about dragons appearing later in the series. She definitely got me hooked by the end and I woke up at this morning to finish reading the book before I headed to work. At work on my fifteen minute break, I started the next book, Patterns in the Dark and am really looking forward to seeing where the characters and this series goes!
The third book in the Dragon Blood series has Sardelle, Ridge, Ahn and Tolemek back for another exciting adventure, while bringing in a few more supporting characters that were fun to meet as well.
I really enjoyed the story, and look forward to the next installment in the series. I was really pleased with the amount of action in the story, the new mysteries in the storyline that I can't wait to see resolved, and the really humorous, true to life dialogue, that the author writes so well. Lindsay Buroker has such a gift for writing her characters, that you really care about what happens to them, and whether they succeed in their quests.
I really appreciate that there is a romance element to her stories, but that it takes a backseat to the adventure, just so perfectly balanced. Read books one and two of the Dragon Blood Series to get the full background on the main characters, and If you are looking for another great series, try Lindsay Buroker's "Emperors Edge" novels, they are amazing. First off, 4-stars is a great rating.
Only the best of the best get 5-stars so the 4-star rating is not because I didn't love the book; I did. Overall, this book lived up to my expectations of Lindsay Buroker's work: well written, good character development, great dialogue, a bit of romance and lots of action. I won't rehash the plot; read the blurb then read the book. Actually, read the first two books in the series and then read the book because, although you could read them as stand-alones, you'll get a lot more from them if you read them in order.
This book is the best of the series so far but that's because you are getting the pay-off from the set-up in the earlier books. If you've not read the Emperor's Edge series and you enjoy this one read those too. At the time of this review the first Emperor's Edge book The Emperor's Edge is free on Amazon but be warned they are addictive.
Lindsay Buroker is offering a free copy of Book 4 in this series to anyone who posts an honest review of this book by the end of July and sends her a link of the review. Did this motivate me into posting? Did I lie about the book? No, why would I? The fact that I'd like a copy of the next book simply tells you that I am enjoying the series.
If I didn't like the book I could post a 1-star review and still get a free copy although why I'd want one if I didn't like it I don't know. See all reviews.
