Claymore - Part 9
We are introduced to Riful, who appears to be a little girl but is much more terrifying than that in reality. The second part of the book basically sets up everything for a large battle in the north. The Claymore are put on teams and are preparing to face off with a whole group of Awakened Beings.

Overall this was another excellent installment in this series. There are some new plot developments, as well as some awesome fighting scenes. The illustration continues to be top notch. I would definitely recommend this to manga fans who love dark fantasy. Nov 29, Anna C rated it it was amazing Shelves: manga-manhwa-manhua , shounen.
Maybe it's because of this illustration by Yagi-sensei that I started to view Jean and Clare as a couple, or maybe because there's a strong chemistry between them Although maybe the latter can be me imagining it wildly, lol, but really, I never try to pairing two girls together before, albeit a fujoshi myself, lol. Well yeah, I love to read BL, and after several shoujo-ai and yuri I came to a conclusion that I don't really like shoujo-ai and yuri and never try to read them anymore dunno if Maybe it's because of this illustration by Yagi-sensei that I started to view Jean and Clare as a couple, or maybe because there's a strong chemistry between them Well yeah, I love to read BL, and after several shoujo-ai and yuri I came to a conclusion that I don't really like shoujo-ai and yuri and never try to read them anymore dunno if I'd change my mind in the future though That's mainly because me as a woman myself, don't find another set of breast and female genital appealing, lol.
Till this day, I wonder why some women love to read hentai, well, because it's really obvious who's the target audience with all that boobs and vaginas everywhere as the main focus. Like I said before, I personally prefer to see men's genital over women's. And that's another reason why I love yaoi, hihi. The kooky Creature of the Abyss, Riful, gives us a taste of her frightening powers, which makes me fearful for our dear Claymores to face Isley, the Silver King, in the North.
She is an amazing Claymore and I love her compassion. Aside from Galatea, m 21 February Woohoo! Aside from Galatea, my other favorite part was seeing Miria and the rest of the gang again.

I didn't realize how much I was missing humor from this series until Helen and Deneve showed up. It was nice to have some lightheartedness. I also really like Jean with her steadfast loyalty and integrity. I think she's a great addition to Clare's group of Awakened ones. With the twenty-four Claymores preparing to battle the army of Awakened Beings, things are about to get bloody good.

Action galore: I'm terribly touched by Jean's grit and loyalty, and Riful scares the spit out of me. I don't even want to know what else she's capable of, but I expect I'll find out. Interesting that Ascended Ones pair off when the, ah, vector of reproduction seems to be other? And I liked Galatea's compassion a lot, but I bet it's going to get her killed. I think part of what keeps throwing me Oh, wow. I think part of what keeps throwing me off is that the volumes are each however many chapters, but the breaking points per volume are not the same as the breaking points per story arc , and so each volume ends in a weird place.
But still, I liked this one pretty well. Apr 27, Dylan Murphy rated it it was amazing Shelves: manga. Ah man, another great volume here. Yagi Norihiro has really set the standards for one of the longest running manga series I own especially since I am not usually a fan of the really long running ones! Each volume builds on the last so well, from character progression to overall plot, and you can even tell he is getting better and better as an artist!
Here we see the epic conclusion to the Deep Abyss of Purgatory arc, and the start of the end. The War in the North! Oh man but this is going to be fu Ah man, another great volume here. Oh man but this is going to be fun! The gang is back together, plus a few extra friends to make sure this is the most intense and meaningful battle to date!

Four to five stars for Claymore in general because I guess individual volumes range from three to five, but at the moment I can't properly rate them individually because I ploughed through the manga re-reading a lot and just inhaling the newer volumes. I couldn't stop.

Later in the volume though is probably my favorite because the old team is reunited, and induct a new member. This is also one of the more confusing Arcs because there is just so much going on. Don't miss out on one of my favorite volumes of the series. Aug 18, Trevor rated it really liked it Shelves: manga-mangia. A good deal of human vs. The storyline, action, and beautiful representation of the Claymores will attract many manga readers, possibly some InuYasha readers looking to leave some of the slapstick-y, cutsey elements behind.

This volume concludes a major battle but then also provides some major filler as it goes through a painstakingly bulk character introduction to get to the next story arc up north with Claire joining a new and rather large squad of Claymores. It's possibly a good arc, but nothing has happened yet, and the constant squabbling of egos is maybe getting a bit tired it's like a team of top-level athletes who just can't seem to get along for anything.

Again, the real reason for this album's marks are probably for the finish of the last arc, and I'd probably give it 3-stars otherwise. Feb 07, Joy rated it liked it Shelves: shonen-manga , 21c , tachiyomi , manga , chromatic. Yay, the gang's all back together. It's especially good to see Helen, just because this is such a serious story; there are so few characters who can reliably make me laugh.
Meanwhile, though I'm still not a huge fan of Yagi's art, it's definitely improved by this point. The mix of linework is much more polished, and there's less of a contrast between individual pages--it's no longer the case that some pages look half-finished and others look overdone. Aug 02, Ash Ebrahim rated it it was amazing Shelves: read-manga. The previous book was a total fail.

The cutoff rank for hunting Awakened Beings is usually in the thirties, so the rest of the team is quite surprised when they hear Clare's rank.
Despite Helen's objections though, Miria accepts it, as it is a decision made by the Organization. After walking for a day, the team sets up camp. Miria asks Clare to battle her in order to judge her strength. Miria explains that when she saw Clare, she felt as if she was standing in the presence of an immense power. The match suggests otherwise though, as Clare is completely overpowered and ends up passing out from fatigue afterwards.
For the entire night, Clare sleeps in the rain and dreams of Teresa. The next evening, the team draws close to the town as they are approached by a man claiming to be sent to take them to the site. However, Miria senses his Yoki and attacks, for the man in front of them is the Awakened Being that they have been sent to take care of. But their information was way off; before them stands a male Awakened Being, one which they have little chance of defeating given the strength of their current team.
